CB30’s Journey to Tasmania
Following on from last weekend’s snippets of what has been happening, we are excited to share that CB30, our new rescue vessel, has now arrived safely at Oyster Cove Marina.
A sincere thank you to Spirit of Tasmania for kindly supporting the transport of CB30 across Bass Strait and helping bring our new rescue vessel home to Tasmania. The team were incredibly helpful and supportive throughout the process, assisting with the transport arrangements and capturing some fantastic photos of CB30 ready to board and safely secured ahead of the passage across Bass Strait.
A big thank you also goes to Boatrans Australia for safely transporting CB30 all the way from New South Wales to Oyster Cove Marina. The journey covered more than 1,500 road kilometres, plus the Bass Strait crossing, and of course the return trip home again.
Since arriving, our volunteers have already spent time giving CB30 a good scrub and clean, with work now beginning on the next stage of preparation.
Over the coming weeks, VMRK will continue preparing CB30 for service, including vessel checks, equipment fit-out and giving the vessel a fresh new look.
